Venice is a housing market where you can always count on finding good real estate opportunities. Compared to other areas in Sarasota County, Venice has managed to maintain its stability, gradual growth, and value appreciation; these are some of the attractive factors that communities such as Eagle Point Club offers.

Located on the site of a former winter resort for wealthy guests, Eagle Point Club is a gated community with 44 homes overlooking the Roberts Bay waterfront. In the 1950s, socialites and other VIP guests came here to enjoy sunny weather as well as tennis, fishing, boating, swimming, clubhouse events, and trips to the beach. Ian Fleming, the British author who created the James Bond series of novels, used to split his time between Jamaica and Eagle Point. These days, the neighborhood is part of the National Register of Historic Places because some of the original cabins and cottages have been preserved.

In the 1990s, developers decided to renovate the amenities and build dozens of luxurious Key West homes; some of them located right on the water and with private docking spaces. Even home buyers who own a boat but do not have a private club membership can keep their vessel at the neighborhood marina. Most properties have private swimming pools.

As can be expected from a community that used to be an exclusive resort, the homes in Eagle Point Club are spectacular and usually priced at a million dollars. You can find exceptions such as a three-bedroom waterfront property listed in June 2020 for less than $870K; this is a home with a private dock, swimming pool with outdoor dining area, granite countertops, garden tub, and panoramic windows overlooking Roberts Bay.

Eagle Point Club is close to just everything you need to make your life easier. Just beyond the gate, there’s a commercial district where you will find a Winn Dixie supermarket along with other stores such as Big Lots; other suburban comforts include restaurants and cafes. As for the beach, you can choose between Nokomis and Venice since both are less than 10 minutes away.
