By virtue of its enviable location on the Gulf of Mexico and it wonderful year-round sunny climate, Venice has always been a major tourism destination. Even though the tourism economy of Venice greatly suffered during the Great Depression, its strong recovery lasted for decades, and by the 1960s this coastal city was already known for as a beach haven for tourists, snowbirds, golf players, and retirees.

There is more to Venice than just beaches, golf, and tourism. You do not have to dig deep to find excellent quality of life here; all you have to do is consider what neighborhoods such as Venice Palms have to offer. Located near the intersection of Jacaranda Boulevard and I-75, Venice Palms is a residential enclave of 174 single-family residences that offer adequate space to raise a family. As its name indicates, Venice Palms is a neighborhood where tall and mature palm trees are the highlight of meticulous landscaping.

Venice Palms feels like a gated community but it does not have a gated entrance. The homes are neatly arranged along quiet streets and a few greenbelt areas. A nature preserve is home to a small lake and a forest patch where you can appreciate nesting birds. This is an intimate neighborhood of 75 acres; each property has ample backyard space where some homeowners have built private swimming pools, summer kitchens, and playgrounds.

Construction of Venice Palms was completed in 2005; at the time, the prevalent architectural style was Mediterranean revival, and it was more ornate than the current interpretation, thus providing home buyers with properties that have more of the Sarasota style compared to newer communities. The entire neighborhood is buffered from traffic along Venice Avenue thanks to six greenbelt sections.

Even though property values have appreciated considerably in Venice Palms, you will find prices to be very reasonable in 2020. A three-bedroom home with two full bathrooms and 1,984 square feet of interior was listed for less than $350K in October.

The entrance of Venice Palms is just down the road from Jacaranda Commons, a shopping center anchored by a Publix supermarket and a CVS Pharmacy. If you enjoy playing golf, a couple of membership courses are located nearby, and driving to Venice Beach will take you just 10 minutes.
