There was a time when Parrish was mostly known as an exurb, but this part of Manatee County is being transformed into a very desirable housing market thanks to all the development that has been taking place in recent years. Parrish is on track to get a new downtown area around the Florida Railroad Museum, not far from Lakeside Preserve, a neighborhood that was completed in 2011. Lakeside Preserve is a low-key community with affordable homeowners association fees, a great place for first-time buyers looking for space, value, and amenities.
Located between Highway 301 and Fort Hamer Road, Lakeside Preserve is a fairly large neighborhood where you can find homes facing a large lake, a few ponds, and two nature preserves. The amenities consist of a playground and various green areas where you can enjoy picnics. The homes feature the Mediterranean revival style that is commonly seen in Southwest Florida; some are on cul-de-sacs while others feature private swimming pools. There are not too many sellers in late 2019, but a few listings are priced as low as $225K for a three-bedroom home with two bathrooms, a fenced backyard, a nice view of a pond, and 1,343 square feet of interior.
Residents of Lakeside Preserve are about five minutes away from the Shops at Silver Leaf, a new shopping center with a large Publix supermarket and suburban comforts such as Michelangelo Pizza, a trendy hair salon, and a couple of banks. Golf players have various options, starting with the River Wilderness Club, Buffalo Creek, and Moccasin Wallow. Nearby attractions for the whole family include Lake Manatee State Park and the Ellenton Premium Outlets. Driving to Holmes Beach takes about 40 minutes.
