Mission Valley Estates in Nokomis is a community ideal for keeping horses, and it is located just 20 minutes away from the family Nokomis Public Beach. The spacious homes in this neighborhood are built on lots measuring at least an acre; for this reason, many homes feature barns, stables, and green spaces for pastures. As it befits an equestrian community, the streets are named after breeds such as Clydesdale, Mustang, and Shetland.
Mission Valley Estates offers a tranquil countryside ambiance complete with greenbelt spaces and horse riding trails. Nearly all of the 250 properties are custom-built homes; some of them are Florida ranches dating back to the 1970s, but many others are Tuscan and Mediterranean mansions. Homeowners in Mission Valley Estates or Mission Estates are not obligated to become members of the country club, but they get preferential discounts. Even if you do not become a member, there are plenty of nearby attractions to enjoy such as the beaches of Nokomis, Osprey, and Venice, public golf courses, Oscar Scherer State Park, and the Legacy Trail that cuts across the neighborhoods.
The rural-like ambiance of Mission Valley is in direct contrast to the convenience of its location. Nokomis Village and Plaza Venezia, two shopping centers anchored by Publix supermarkets, are just a few minutes south. If you need to commute north to Sarasota, you can access I-75 from a nearby on-ramp.
