Southwest Florida consistently ranks as a top 10 place to retire in the United States, and this has a lot to do with the development of 55+ communities that feature convenience, amenities, and great real estate. A perfect example in this regard is BayView, a neighborhood developed by Del Webb, a specialty home builder with a great track record of completing upscale adult communities in Florida.
Del Webb BayView in Parrish is located in the northeastern section of Manatee County, just three miles from the I-75 and I-275 junction that provides easy access to the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, St. Petersburg, and the Tampa Bay region. This part of town has gone through a wave of residential and commercial development in recent years, but it remains a low-density district of pleasant neighborhoods.
All homes at BayView have been completed over the last two years; all of them are still covered under Del Webb’s builder warranty program. The architectural styles of the villas and single-family homes in BayView are inspired by Tuscan design, and the overall ambiance is reminiscent of a Mediterranean resort. All the floor plans selected by Del Webb are spacious; even the coziest two-bedroom villas provide at least 1,400 square feet of living space. Two-story homes with four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms offer interiors measuring more than 3,300 square feet.
As an active adult community, Del Webb BayView keeps residents engaged and entertained with numerous amenities. The lakefront Driftwood Club community center serves as the dining hall, lounge, and clubhouse. Residents and guests enjoy access to a resort-style swimming pool, yoga studio, gym, and tennis courts. A full-time lifestyle director organizes trips, workshops, classes, social events, and other activities adequate for senior residents.
Just beyond the gates of BayView, two relatively new shopping plazas are just a short drive away. Both Market Walk and Gateway Plaza are anchored by Publix supermarkets, and they feature shops, restaurants, cafes, beauty salons, and other suburban comforts. Trips to the beach in St. Petersburg or Anna Maria Island take about 30 minutes. Golf players can find three courses in Parrish, and a few more around Palmetto and Bradenton.
BayView is one of the Parrish communities where property values have increased the most. Pre-construction villas sold at $382K in 2021 are now listed at $437K, but this is still lower than median home prices across Manatee County. The real estate forecast for Parrish indicates that values in this market will rise higher than in Bradenton.
