Located about 12 miles northeast of Downtown Bradenton, between Erie Road and Highway 301, Lexington is one of the first projects that emerged as part of the ongoing wave of real estate development in Parrish. Construction of Lexington started in the year 2000 and continued for a few years before the major market downturn in 2008. This is a large gated community that offers single family homes, townhouses and paired villas nestled within 75 acres of nature preserves and lakes crisscrossed by walking trails.

Lexington was designed with all prospective homeowners in mind. The numerous amenities and green spaces make this neighborhood attractive to families, but quite a few first-time home buyers, retirees, and single professionals have taken advantage of the peaceful location and affordable prices. The architectural style at Lexington is Mediterranean revival. Lush tropical landscaping is maintained by the homeowners association, and many properties overlook lakes, ponds, and greenbelt areas; a few larger homes are located in cul-de-sacs. Some of the largest homes offer three bedrooms and three full bathrooms built on more than 2,300 square feet of interior. As of October 2019, the most affordable three-bedroom homes in Lexington were listed for less than $260K.

Lexington residents and their guests have quite a few amenities to enjoy within the neighborhood. Aside from the pocket parks, lakeside trails, and picnic areas, Lexington offers a swimming pool with a clubhouse, basketball courts, a playground, a splash zone for children, and tennis courts. Nearby attractions include three golf courses, the Florida Railroad Museum, and the Ellenton Premium Outlets. The nearest Publix is just five minutes away at Silver Leaf. Weekend trips to the Terra Ceia Preserve and Anna Maria Island will take you about an hour.
