Manasota Key in Englewood offer Beachfront Homes for Sale

Here’s an interesting piece of geographic trivia related to Venice and Manasota Key: They are both part of the same barrier island. Even though you cannot drive directly from Caspersen Beach to Manasota Key, the trip can be made on foot. Notwithstanding this topographical feature, Manasota Key feels like an island miles away from the ordinary.

Manasota Key is the beachfront district of Englewood; it is a relatively small housing market where every property is considered to be prime Florida real estate. Buying a home or a plot of land in Manasota Key is like making a significant lifetime investment; you can always count on value appreciation when acquiring properties here, and this explains why celebrities such as the late Donna Summer, the Queen of Disco, and country music legend Tim McGraw kept mansions here.

You can find everything from Old Florida cottages to stunning Key West homes and Mediterranean mansion in Manasota Key. Some of the old beach resorts have been transformed into condos, and there is a very healthy vacation rental economy that attracts plenty of seasonal tenants. There are less than 450 residences plus a handful of lots awaiting development; a great portion of the island consists of nature preserves. Commercial establishments are limited to a few hotels, restaurants, and pubs. You get miles of white sandy beach on the side facing the Gulf of Mexico; the other side faces Lemon Bay, and this is where you can find waterfront estates with private docking space nestled among mangrove preserves.

Even though Manasota Key offers abundant privacy and solitude, the island connects to the Woodmere district of Venice on the north and to Englewood on the south. You will never be more than a few blocks away from the beach anywhere you choose to live on the the island. The real estate opportunities range from five-acre beachfront lots right on the Gulf of Mexico to Modernist mansions on the bay starting at $2 million, but every now and then you will see a three-bedroom Florida ranch listed for less than $500K. One thing you can always expect from Manasota Key listings is that they will sell rather quickly.
