When it comes to finding the Southwest Florida golf community that is right for you, Venice is a good place for your search, and you should put the Pelican Pointe Golf and Country Club at the top of your house hunting list. Located just north of the Venice Gardens district and a 15-minute drive to the beach, Pelican Pointe in Venice is a neighborhood where you can find homes listed under the median sales price for Venice and still be able to enjoy superb amenities.
Pelican Pointe is a collection of neighborhoods that are collectively as large as a subdivision nestled between Pinebrook Road and Jacaranda Boulevard. The entire country club takes up more than 1,000 acres, and quite a few are managed as nature preserves. Golf villas are available at The Links and The Villas; if you prefer larger properties with at least three bedrooms and more than 2,000 square feet of interior, you will find them at The Arbors and The Sanctuary, which are situated in peaceful enclaves surrounding the golf course. It is not difficult to find homes with water views thanks to the numerous lakes and ponds around the course.
In early 2021, you could move into a two-bedroom Pelican Pointe villa for just $262K. Since this is a relatively large community, you can count on new listings coming on the market each month even though many homeowners are known to hold on to their properties. This is the kind of inclusive neighborhood where homeowners are not obligated to pay for golf memberships if they do not wish to do so; nonetheless, they can still enjoy various country club amenities such as Har-Tru tennis courts, a swimming pool, fitness center, and the clubhouse dining facilities. Beginners can coordinate lessons with onsite PGA and LPGA professionals.
All in all, Pelican Pointe is a great place to live whether you are into golf or not. When you drive west on Center Road, you can choose between Venice Beach or Caspersen Beach, which are equidistant to the neighborhood. Center Road will also take you to Venice Plaza, which is the closest shopping district to the neighborhood, but you may find more shops, cafes, and restaurants at Jacaranda Commons near the northeast corner of the course.
