Just when you think that the Lakewood Ranch master-planned development in Manatee County cannot get any better, a new village emerges to surprise you. Savanna is located on the northeastern section of Lakewood Ranch, specifically near the corner of State Road 64 and Lorraine Road; this part of town does not feature too much density, which makes it ideal for home buyers looking for a quiet neighborhood.

Most of the single-family residences in Savanna have been completed in recent years. The first developer was Meritage Homes in 2015; Lennar started building lots a few months later. Initial sales were brisk; by the time both Meritage and Lennar had been awarded Parade of Homes awards for selected floor plans in 2017, property values started appreciating quickly.

Both Meritage Homes and Lennar are committed to making Savanna one of the most attractive villages of Lakewood Ranch. The home designs chosen by both developers are based on the Mediterranean style, but they are aesthetically enhanced with details such as stonework facades, tiled roofs and awnings, French doors, and panoramic windows. All floor plans feature interiors larger than 2,000 square feet and built on oversize lots. The properties built by Meritage Homes enjoy 100 percent Energy Star certification while many of the residences completed by Lennar feature the Nexia smart home automation system.

As of March 2018, pricing at Savanna started at $355K for a four-bedroom home with three full bathrooms and more than 2,200 square feet under air conditioning. The largest home offered by Lennar is a two-level NextGen model that can accommodate two families with five bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and 3,550 square feet of living space; this spacious property can be negotiated under $440K.

Amenities available to Savanna residents include a swimming pool, playground, exercise room, dog park, and picnic areas. Nearby suburban comforts include quite a few restaurants along State Road 64: Wolves Head, Acapulco, Mizu Sushi, and a Taste of China. The nearest supermarket is about a mile away in Lakewood Ranch Plaza, and driving to the beach takes about 30 minutes.
