Starting around 2002, the area surrounding the Pelican Pointe Golf and Country Club went through a busy wave of development, and this is when East Venice started being considered as one of the most attractive places to live in southern Sarasota County. Venice Palms in Venice Florida is one of the communities that was completed during this period. In this residential enclave of 174 single-family homes spread across 75 acres, families, retirees, and single professionals can enjoy living in a quiet and pleasant neighborhood where sidewalks are lined with tall and mature palm trees.
Venice Palms is the kind of neighborhood that feels intimate and secluded despite enjoying a very convenient location just north of East Venice Avenue. Even though Venice Palms does not have a front gate, the community is pleasantly buffered from traffic noise by a series of greenbelt spaces; moreover, the northern section features an idyllic nature preserve overlooking a lake and a small stream.
The location of Venice Palms is conducive to a comfortable life. The Jacaranda Commons shopping center is just down the road from the entrance on East Venice Avenue, and this is a place that offers the convenience of a CVS Pharmacy along with a Publix supermarket as well as restaurants and cafes. East Venice Avenue will also take you to the Historic Downtown district and the beach in less than 10 minutes. Golf players have a few nearby courses to choose from, and family fun can be enjoyed in the Myakka River State Park.
In early 2021, you can expect to see listings for three-bedroom homes with two bathrooms and two-car garages priced around $350K, although this is bound to change in the near future because of ongoing development at Wellen Park, which is located just east of Venice Palms. If you are looking to build equity in this part of town, this neighborhood is an excellent option.
