Some of the most spectacular homes in Southwest Florida can be found near the southern banks of the Manatee River and east of I-75. This is where Winding River, an exclusive neighborhood designed by luxury home builder Bruce Williams, is located.
Winding River gets its name from the section of the Manatee River that becomes narrower as it turns and bends past the Rye Preserve and into Lake Manatee. This Bradenton neighborhood was originally developed by custom home builders such as Arthur Rutenberg, and the focus was to create a very sumptuous community. In fact, the highest residential property resale in Manatee County was recorded in 2013 at this neighborhood.
In 2013, home builder Bruce Williams took over development of Winding River for the purpose of offering affordable luxury to house hunters in Manatee County. The first model home was built in October 2013, based on the Blue Cypress floor plan. The lot sizes available in Winding River are very spacious; a 41,164 square foot home site was listed for $129K in mid-2015. Home buyers looking for even more space may be interested in a 2.09 acre lot listed for less than $300K. Once the lot is acquired, building a mansion at Winding River starts at less than $450K.
Bruce Williams will develop just 62 homes in this 107 acre neighborhood. In terms of interior space, the floor plans range from 2,600 to 5,000 square feet, and they are lavishly well-appointed. Granite counter tops, upscale appliances, maple or cherry cabinets, crown molding, 20” ceramic tile, decorative paver driveways, elaborate balconies, fireplaces, and even wood-paneled studios are just some of the extras offered by Bruce Williams in this neighborhood, where the design is a nice mix of contemporary Mediterranean and Caribbean styles.
The homes at Winding River are surrounded by preserved nature areas and forest trail. Residents have access to a private boat launch that allows them to sail out to the main Manatee River, the Intracoastal Waterway, the Tampa Bay, and the Gulf of Mexico. There is a feeling of seclusion at Winding River, but the community is only a few miles away from shopping centers and schools. Downtown Bradenton can be reached in about 30 minutes, and the beaches are less than an hour away.
