Families with young children will enjoy living down the street from Imagine Charter School. Other family attractions that are not far from The Woods include an equestrian farm, the Terra Ceia Preserve, and the Florida Railroad Museum in Parrish. Homeowners are holding on to their properties for the time being because of all the commercial development in the area; plus, being close to the Buffalo Creek and Moccasin Wallow golf courses is another advantage. In mid-2019, the Gateway Commons shopping center opened with a stylish new Publix supermarket for added convenience, and there is always the Ellenton Premium Outlets for even more shopping and entertainment.
